The album I have chosen to design has been derived from English Pop Band, Bastille. As the name suggests, the album has an eerie apocalyptic lyrical theme accompanied by deep bass, strings, synth and keys which compliment its soft yet soulful vocals.
The band targets a young adult audience through its projection of social commentary surrounding young reckless behaviour.

Design Iterations
I aimed to portray these themes through three iterations as seen below.
Iteration One
One of the key themes demonstrated in the album is the addiction to technology many young people face. The design iteration I have illustrated portrays the concept of technology as the potential for the world's destruction due to its global control.
Its' bold colourful text and images with juxtaposing dark graphics assist in symbolising this theme whilst demonstrating a comic book style to attract the young adult audiences.
Design Iteration Two
The Doom Days album also promotes values of debauchery and lust in compromise of deep connection and companionship. This is what inspired me to design a record cover which portrays a couple seeking love within a bar, ready to start the timer of their 'one night stand'.
The neon styled text is supposed to assist in symbolising a bar with a slightly mismatched look to demonstrate the dinginess of the place, yet this is where most teens find love.
Design Iteration Three
The third iteration continues the illustrative effect in a mysterious way through demonstrating a geometric minimalism style. It illustrates the chaos of a decaying society running rampant with reckless teens.
