iPhone Mockup of Green Planet App
The Concept
Green Planet is an app prototype designed to encourage up-cycling in families in the form of an interactive game.
The app allows the user to scan the recyclable content of their retail packaging in order to decide whether it is recyclable or not. Then, they can receive new materials to build their virtual 'UpCycle City'.

The Design
The final design comprised of the prototype video promoting the product and a secondary prototype campaign.

Social Media Campaign
In conjunction with the prototype, I designed a social media campaign to promote the design.

The mockups for the social media campaign were designed in Adobe Photoshop with assets designed in Adobe Illustrator.

Iteration process
Thumbnailing
and  Storyboarding
The initial storyboarding involved iterating the idea of combining the AR recognition and interactive exploration of sustainability into an app.
Green Planet uses AR recognition to allow the user to understand the recyclable content of the item which they scan. This allows the user to scan the item they want to dispose of and therefore receive an item of rubbish from their virtual 'Landfill Lake' to build their virtual 'UpCycle City'.

After experimenting with mood boards, the paper cut style of the third moodpboard suited best because of its uniqueness within the context of a game-based app.

Compiling the Prototype
Adobe After Effects was used for compiling the virtual environments for the prototype video. It was important to adjust the lighting and camera angles correctly to showcase the prototype correctly.
